1998 Dodge Ram 2WD pickup slipping transmission and failure to upshift to 2nd to 3rd and sluggish.
i've been informed that a servo could cause band slippage and thus create the sluggishness in upshift from 2nd to 3rd/ and slipping, whats your take?

Could be a servo but I suspect it is more likely the valve body is clogged or the clutchpack for third gear is sticking. I would add some Seafoam Trans Tune to the tranny and drive it around for a few days. Then drop the pan and change the ATF fluid and filter.

You can try some transmission conditioner, but more than likely the transmission is going out. Dodge's are notorious for transmission problems. And they wonder why their company is going down the toilet.
