Status: Closed

1998 NAVIGATOR has clunking noise in rear end area under 35 mph. Any ideas about what is causing it.

Car has 80,000 mis. U-joint are okay and no clunking while shifting gears. pushing the tires while elevated makes smilar noise, but much louder than whne wheels turning.

It could be the wheel bearings. Does it move when pushing on the elevated wheel to make the noise?
