    My online manual doesn't have photos or a diagram of the starter. These are the instructions it has:

    Starter Motor

    REMOVAL & INSTALLATION


    1.6L Engine


    Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
    Remove or disconnect the following:
    Negative battery cable
    Upper and lower starter mounting bolts
    Starter electrical connections
    Starter

    To install:


    Install or connect the following:
    Starter
    Upper and lower starter mounting bolts and tighten to 32 ft. lbs. (43 (Nm)
    Starter electrical connections and tighten the nuts to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm)
    Negative battery cable


    2.0L Engine


    Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
    Remove or disconnect the following:
    Negative battery cable
    Nut that attaches the starter ground wire to the lower mounting stud
    Ground wire
    Starter-to-block and starter-to-transaxle mounting bolts
    Starter solenoid nuts and the cable
    Starter


    To install:


    Install or connect the following:
    Starter and the mounting bolts. Tighten the starter-to-block bolt to 33 ft. lbs. (45 Nm) and the starter-to-transaxle mounting bolt to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
    Wire to the solenoid and the nut and the ground wire on the lower stud. Tighten the solenoid wire nut to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm), the solenoid terminal-to-ignition solenoid terminal nut to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm) and the starter lower mounting stud ground nut. id nuts and the cable
    Negative battery cable


    2.2L Engine


    Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
    Remove or disconnect the following:
    Negative battery cable
    Intake manifold-to-block strap bracket over the starter
    Starter-to-transaxle bolt
    Starter-to-block bolt
    Starter solenoid nuts and the cable
    Starter


    To install:


    Install or connect the following:
    Starter and the mounting bolts. Tighten the starter-to-block bolt to 33 ft. lbs. (45 Nm) and the starter-to-transaxle mounting bolt to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
    Intake manifold-to-block strap bracket over the starter and tighten the bolt to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm)
    Wire to the solenoid and the nut and tighten to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm)
    Solenoid terminal-to-battery cable terminal nut to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm)
    Negative battery cable
