    Sounds like maybe the timing belt is off a notch or two. As for the overheat, that's pretty severe conditions, so many an old car would do that in 105 degree heat sitting in traffic.


    If the heads were magna-fluxed, it's possible there's an internal crack in there. Also you can test your coolant for the presence of combustion gases using a chemical kit.
