    That blinking light is telling you there are trouble codes being stored that you have to read---these codes will help you isolate the issue. For the most part, modern transmissions don't offer the do-it-yourselfer much opportunity to repair things on your own, but if you want to take a shot at it, you have to have codes to start with. Maybe something to do with the shifting solenoid for the locking torque converter, I really don't know at this point.
