2000 GMC Jimmy. Had to have tranny replaced at 105,000 miles. Push button lights have started to come on and off!

We took it back to the dealership that replaced the tranny and they found a wire they said was deteriorated under the driver side wheel well. We think they crushed it during replacement.

Regardless, we have been having electrical problems with our push button 4-wheel drive dash panel. After starting, it will randomly begin to flash uncontrollably and the service 4WD light comes on all with a LOT of "clicking" - sounds like it is coming from under the passenger side dash.

All of this with never even pushing any buttons. We have shut it off then restarted. Sometimes that will solve it. Lately, even after we shut if off, the clicking will continue! The dealership told us that there is a "contact" that costs $500.00 that needs to be replaced under the dashboard. They said they cleaned it up.... of course, with a price... When this happens, and we begin to drive it, it will "lope". When we accelerate it, it will cut out. Sometimes it will just "fix itself" as we are driving. It is happening more and more. Anyone been through this before?
