    I would suspect the crankshaft position sensor. Since it's easy to replace I would start there first. Now you do not have a timing belt as your engine has a timing chain, so I do not think this is the issue. The TPS sensor would not usually keep the car from starting.

    Your timing chain tensioner failed and the chain jump a tooth. 2.7L have a history of sludge build up. Check the timing and stop trying to start it or you will be replacing the top half.
