2002 Mercedes CLK 230coupe, Does dash have to be removed to install the option of cd player in the glovebox?

Previous owner did not have the option of cd player installed and I would like to do so where do I purchase this kit for a glovebox and is this very expensive and involved process. Any info appreciated.

There might be a kit available from Mercedes Benz, including the CD changer. I would however recommend changing the head unit (tape deck) in the dash for something more modern that also has ipod hookups, and maybe a hard drive too.

If I recall the CD Changer option back in 2001-2002 for any MB was over $500. Installation might run you a few hundred too, so in my opinion no it's not worth it as it was and probably still is ridiculously expensive.

You can get a good quality head unit with a CD/MP3 player, ipod hookup, and other features, including professional installation for under $500 tops.
