    Did your mechanic run a fuel pressure check? Your truck should pump up to 50 psi and hold that pressure for 10 minutes. You can buy a gauge and hose kit for about 40 bucks at any auto parts store. Screw it into the valve that is at midpoint of the fuel rail. Turn the ignition on without starting the engine and see if it goes to 50 psi and holds as mentioned. If not, you have a fuel pump problem.
