2003 Jeep Wrangler fan blower motor quits & air bag warning appears on dash when placed in reverse, new resistor.

2003 jeep wrangler X, air bag warning light appears on dash & fan motor quits, when automatic shifter placed in reverse, and if i restart the engine 60 percent of the time, it works o.k. , i've noticed it got better after replacing the blower motor resistor, it's been 2 months now and again it's starting to appear again. is it a loose connection?, bad switch? bad ground?. any response greatly appreciated.

Very bizarre. About the only thing I can think of---as to where to even START with this, would be to get a very good wiring diagram of the car, even if you have to pay for one, and to see where, if anywhere, these different parts of the car intersect---at some junction, two fuses next to each other, sharing a common ground, whatever. There has to be some logic to it.
