2004 Hyundai Sonata. Can I change the fuel filter myself?

Would it be better for a professional to do this job?

The fuel filter is part of the fuel pump in the fuel tank. It is relatively easy to access through the back seat. Here is an excellent description with pictures for the Elantra model that is basically the same for your vehicle.

As you can see, it is not very dificult to do yourself. Good luck!
