2004 VW Beetle Headlight Replacement

How do I remove the headlight housing on my 2004 2.0L GLS Beetle? I am trying to replace the bulb but I can't remove the housing.

In Maintenance & Repair > Lights > Headlights
In Makes & Models > Volkswagen > New Beetle

It takes LOTS and LOTS and even more LOTS of WD-40, strength, and patience to remove the headlight housing. Just be careful not to pull too hard and break the lever.
