    Check with your dealer. GM had a recall for this problem and is replacing instrument clusters completely. The problem is faulty stepping motors that move the needles. Our 2004 did the same thing. Driving down the highway the speedometer would just start wandering all over the place.

    There is a specific limit to the mileage under which the repair is performed free of charge, so don't wait!

    Have it rebuild I had the same problem with my 04 Chevy avalanche
