    Wait a few days to see if the smell of gas disipates. Gas can leave a lingering odor for awhile. If the smell still persists, have the car's computer scanned again for codes identifying an unresolved EVAP system problem. Given that modern fuel systems are sealed, if you have a gas smell indicating a leak somewhere there will be a code and check engine light coming on as it did at first with your car.
