This problem should be covered by the dealership, under your warranty.

Did you ever find an answer for your problem? I had the same problem the other day. A mechanic told me that the Acadia's would lock up if it thought the battery was dead. To fix the problem I disconnected the battery and connected it back. I could then remove the key. Instead of taking the chance of locking it up again, since I was about 8 hours from home, I had someone to jump me off in case it was the battery. However I have not had anymore problems and still have not replaced the battery. That makes me think the problem was something else.
