2008 Acura TSX or 2006 Lexus IS250?

Which is the better deal over the course of 8 years?

A) New 2008 Acura TSX fully loaded w/ Nav., heated seats, and auxillary/mp3 input

or...

B) Used 2006 Lexus IS250 w/ 20K miles. All options EXCEPT Navigation, heated seats, and auxillary/mp3 input.

Assume price of cars to be equal. Please consider resale, body style, and customer service along with all other typical considerations.

I would say the TSX is the better deal. The Lexus service will probably be better but you also will be spending more time there because you are starting with an older car.

As for resale, even if you don't drive it a lot over the next 8 years the model year will really have a bearing on the resale price. Its still the end of the model year for the 2008 TSX, but the IS250 was probably put in service mid 2005.

So in 8 years you will be selling an 8 year old TSX or an 11 year old IS.

Its all just a guess with service and style so it really depends on what you like the best. If they are the same price then I think you would be overpaying for the Lexus, but if you like it better then its totally worth it.

I would lean towards the TSX as well. New technology, fresh warranty. Resale would probably be slightly better on the IS, but I can't predict the future market with all certainty.

Since you're looking at both, I assume that you like both the styles. Service will be along the same lines as well.

Nod goes to TSX.

Enjoy your new ride!

All votes in!
The tsx will be a better deal in the long run because you are buying it new you have the warrantee if anything breaks (sometimes warrantees dont transfer) If it was the is350 i would probably lean towards the lexus however even then with the acura you get the better higher quality options that people will want in their cars when you go to trade it in.
verdict is TSX!

TSX!! That or wait for the new TSX in september. IMO, the 2008 as thenext tsx is boring looking and has the same things underneath.

I think the Lexus is a better car to drive, but the Acura is more relaible, comfrotable, and safe car. If you want to save some money a used last generation TSX is almost as good as the new one, but it gets better gas mileage and has better performance.
