    Well why don't you try this test: Start the truck normally with the key and turn the AC on. Then shut the truck off, with the AC still engaged...then start it up again and see if the AC works. If it does, then perhaps it is an installation problem. If it doesn't re-engage on normal start-up, then that's in the truck's design and not a fault of the remote starter.

    The air turns on when started with the key if left in the on position, but not if started remotely,(left in the on position).

    Well I guess you've have to convey that information to the tech who installed it, especially since you say the HHR could do this with the remote.
