300Zx1987car want start unless fuel is in the throttle.fuel filter&pump new car burnsout fuel&shuts down.need help

I have changed the fuel pump and filter checked the pressure regulator and still can't seem to get this car running. When fuel is added to the throttle the car will start but will shut-down once the fuel burns out. Can you tell me what I need to look at towards this problem?

We would need to know what the fuel pressure is, what trouble codes are present and what engine and whether it is carberated or fuel injected. I am assuming that since you said you checked the regulator, it is throttle body injection.

That model came with throttle body or carberator.

Also, how exactly did you check the regulator?

Let us know.

I had the car towed to a nearby shop(Sunoco) and they claimed that the pulse on the injectors were checked. I had checked the lines to the injectors to see if fuel was getting to the injectors. This car is fuel injected. In testing whether fuel was getting into the throttle i cleaned the body well and added a little fuel just to see if the car would start and it did

That diagnosis sounds faulty. If the injectors are getting pulse and getting fuel then there has to be fuel in the throttle body; but you say you have to add fuel to the throttle body to get the engine to fire. So there is something that needs to be checked again. It's not adding up here.

If fuel pressure is good I'd check whatever triggers the injectors on that car (I don't recall the system very well).

Remember even if the injection system is all screwed up, if some gas dribbles in there, the engine will fire...it may not run well but it'll fire. So you must be getting zero fuel delivery.
