82 Chevy 350 timing chain and gears removed. What to do to put them back in right spot? Please help.

i removed timing chain and gears and i forgot and cranked motor now i need to know how to put everything back in time thank u

both the crankshaft and the camshaft hace keyways the both go straight up make sure that your distributor rotor is pointing to #1 cyl.before you put it all back together if not you wont be in timing correctly

There will be a mark on the gears, usually a punch mark like a period or possibly a scribed line. The marks must must be opposite each other.

But it's too late now.

If you cranked the engine without the timing chain in place the pistons bent the valves which were open. You will need to remove the heads and replace the valves.
