    The brake light switch or button is not a likely candidate as it would affect both lights equally, In other words, with no brake light signal, neither bulb would light. You might notice next time it occurs if the third light still come on. If so, a probable cause could be the turn signal switch or the wiring attaching to it. Possibly you are shaking this wiring when replacing the brake switch button?
