'94 Ford F-150 302 v-8 AC was working fine last summer, now no cold air coming out

My ac was working fine last summer, I recently had to replace oil pan gasket and exhaust studs, during this time I unhooked a wiring connector that ran from the EGR sensor(?),located on exhaust pipe,up through the front to another connector coming out of the wiring harness by the battery cables, I cleaned the connector(at exhaust end) w/ aerosol contact cleaner(because it was oily) and re-hooked it up.(I don't know if this has anything to do w/ the problem I have). When all was back together I started truck, I was trying ac for first time this year, no cold air-only blows warm/hot,all fuses checked are OK, ac compressor clutch not turning when ac is turned on inside truck but you can turn easily by hand, checked for vacuum leaks(w/ gauge) but didn't find any? Can anyone help? Thanks all in advance.

If your compressor clutch isn't engaging then you may be low on refrigerant. The pressure switch will not allow the AC compressor to operate with too low a pressure. Or the pressure switch could be bad. You should probably bring it into an AC specialist for a diagnostic. If you don't know what you're doing with AC, it's better not to mess with it. You could mess it up or mess yourself up, too. If you do know what you're doing, then you need to evacuate, check for leaks, and then lubricate and re-pressurize to recommended pressures.

most common reason for a\c not working is freon\134 leaked out. compressor will not turn on if freon is low. Safety feature so you dont ruin pump. If low on freon, you have a leak. Can try to e-vac system and check for leaks or put freon in with green dye so you can find leak at a later time. Sometimes leak is so small that it will last a season before it leaks out. Good luck.
