    The answer is that the switch in the car (4WD BUTTONS) was defective,a NEW replacement switch was ALSO defective,upon replacement of a Newer switch,IT WORKS FINE.

    Thanks for reporting back. Was this an OEM switch from the dealer or one from an autoparts store?

    I bought this part on-line and this person replaced the switch in a timely manner.
    it is a GM Transfer case 4WD switch.

    probably a knock-off,no Dealer or Parts Store.
