'96 Dodge Caravan keeps frying Coil Pack!

I was on my way home, and stopped at a downhill light. My van started shaking like it was skipping. I drove about 15 more miles and it died. I looked under the hood and the "Coil pack with the plug wires was smoking and had a crack in it. I replaced it and nothing. I lokk at the fuse box under the hood, and the fuse labeled "Engine" was blown. i reoplaced that and the van stared and ran for about a minute before the second coil pack fried. Any idea what could cause this? The part cracked at the first and fourth spark plug connectors. Thanks so much.

You have a short in the wiring harness which is what fried both coil packs. DO NOT replace the coil pack until you have tested the wiring from the coil pack back. Only way to do this is the slow not easy way. Work back and test each section and connection till you find the short. Otherwise you will be replacing some very expensive parts many times.
