    If the speedo is working, yes, you could have a wiring harness problem or damaged pins on the ECM. There are a series of diagnostic tests for this that a mechanic should be aware of, or he can get them at www.alldatapro.com.

    Sometimes plugging and unplugging the various harness in this circuit will clear up the problem (with ignition off!). This might include the harness from the ECM.
