97 Pontiac Trans Sport. Tachometer stopped working. Can't find problem. Any guesses?
Stopped working sometime back. Have installed different transaxle since then. When I had the codes cleared-showed malfuctioning crank sensor. Was told, shouldn't be the problem. Sensor was replaced a year earlier

Probably a problem between your tach and your power control module or instrument control module. If any other gauges start to go out, I'd replace the entire cluster. I'm sure there are diagnostics for testing the tachometer however, but I can't find the procedure, sorry. You might see if there are any other codes being stored. If the CPS was bad your car wouldn't run or it would run very badly.
