The camshaft position sensor will be located in the cylinder head. However it depends on the engine size and type to get an exact answer. Remember that when dealing with check engine lights there is a common misconception that a code will tell you what is wrong with the car but it simply tells you what direction to take when diagnosing the real problem. You may want to have a professional take a look at it before you replace any parts.
