I'm guessing it's because the pcu (Computer) is telling the car it's too hot. Either it's the coolant, something in the coolant system is not responding right, try and see is the coolant level is low or is it's leaking anywhere. that could be your problem.

When you say it doesn't start, do you mean that the starter engages and turns the engine, but the engine won't fire up and start running? Or, do you mean you hear no clicks, and the starter doesn't work?

I had a bad starter once, that when the engine was hot the starter wouldn't turn over. Replaced the starter, everything worked fine for a number of years.

It may be an issue with engine vacuum. How are the vacumm lines, they are the rubber hoses that go from the intake manifold to the egr for example. After a few years sitting on a hot engine the rubber gets hard and dried out and can develop cracks. The intake manifold gasket may be leaking. Back in the day we used to spray wd-40 around the intake manifold area and if the idle speed went up, then we knew we had a leak, hope this helps.
