Alarm wiring/factory installed alarm was removed but alarm security still affects starting car. What should I do? 1991 Buick Park Avenue.
Hello, Less than one year ago, a Buick dealership mechanic said he dismantled and removed my factory wiring and alarm system from my 1991 Buick Park Avenue. However, a few weeks ago the security light on my dash board has remained on which has prevented the car from starting...however, about 10-15 minutes later (when the security system re-sets), the car starts perfectly. I took it to my mechanic and he said that they could fix it more easily if I had another key for the car (which I don't). The Buick dealership no longer exists and I don't have another key. Is there anything I can do to disconnect the factory alarm from the main electrical system myself? What do you suggest I do for the least expensive fix? Thank you so much for your help, Kevin
