Anybody had any trouble w/their 2002 Toyota (type 4) CD/Tape player? Cannot access CD/Tape, disc will not eject.

2002 Toyota Tundra type 4 radio/cd/tape player. Cannot access cd or tape feature(s). Unit will not eject cd, currently in player slot. Dealer wants $500+ to R&R and additional $500+ to send to repair outlet. Anybody have any suggestions, other than selling truck?

Thanks,

Try removing the fuse to the radio or disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes. Then, put it back in and see if it spits it out. If not, try pressing and holding down the eject button. If all that doesn’t work, it’s needs to be pulled out and taken apart and repaired.

A most cost effective approach would be finding a suitable replacement on a major auction site. Many times OEM radios can be purchased at a VERY low cost. Sometimes, brand new ones can be found that were replaced at the time of purchase. I purchased at least 3 Toyota OEM radios in my life and all three were Mint and all three were under $50.

The pull the fuse trick is your best bet.

Some other options can be found in the Stuck CD Guide.

I'd get an aftermarket one before fixing the OEM one.
