Anybody know where I can find inexpensive garage mats to catch the melting snow off my truck?

It would be great to find rubber mats with edges starting from the front tire going all the way to the rear bumber about 18 to 24 inches wide for each side. My garage is a mess due to all the melting snow, salt, cinders, etc. and I'm over dealing with wet carpet or cardboard. Any suggestions?

The best place to find something like this would be a wholesale supplier of industrial bulk rubber products. If there is anything custom made for this purpose; it would probably be marked way up over the original cost. Likely places to look are in the yellow pages of the phone book, under "Mats and Matting" or "Rubber Products" or "Floor Materials." You can also get vinyl floor covering in bulk rolls from some floor materials suppliers; which could then be cut to whatever size and shape you want.

Another source would be a supplier or fabricator of plastic products. In the yellow pages this can be found under "Plastics Fabricators," or Plastics-Molders-Structural Foam," or "Plastics-Rods, Tubes, Sheets, Etc, Supply Centers." You could use heavy gauge plastic sheeting or rigid foam panels.

A place like www.northerntool.com has lots and lots of waterproof floor mats in all sorts of styles and sizes (in their "Garage + Workshop Supplies > Floor + Shop Mats" category). They also sell heavy duty tarps; (under the category of "Tarps, Covers, + Shelters).

Summit Racing has similar items at www.genuinehotrod.com under "Garage And Shop Flooring."

Alternately, if you can resurface your garage floor; there are waterproof, non-slip epoxy coatings which can be painted on.
