Are there any serious problems with the 07 Ford Explorer limited V-6? My mom (70) is contemplating the extended warranty.

07 Explorer limited w/V-6 automatic 4x4. Vehicle was purchased new. The warranty will expire June 30. My mother just widowed doesn't need extra expenses. Should she buy the extended warranty. Are there any known issues that an extended warranty would cover? She said she has been hearing a clunking noise in the front. Possibly the transmission? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the Explorer, but I would strongly recommend that if she gets an extended warranty, it's one from Ford, not some other company. There have been many problems with 3rd party warranties.
