Blue temperature light keeps coming on.

Blue temp light keeps coming on after car is warm, then turns off then on again. Can you tell what this might be?

In Maintenance & Repair > Lights > Interior lights
In Maintenance & Repair > Engine > Indicator Lights

According to this CarSpace post the blue temperature light should be on just until the car warms up:

"The blue indicator is NORMAL. There is no temperature GAUGE in the NB to tell you when the engine is still not warmed up. Thus, the light is blue to indicate that the engine is still not up to temperature."

This CarSpace post says your sensor it probably bad since it is coming on after the VW is warm:

The engine temp sensor is known to go bad on your 2000 VW. It is cheap to purchase and pretty easy to replace. (under $20 for the sensor and O-ring)
