Bought new '03 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in Dec. 2002. Loaded, also a 7/70K extended plan. In need of assistance.
Jeep bought Brand New and also have 7/70K Factory Warranty - Just reached 51K miles.-- About 5-6 months ago had very slight and intermittent tranny slippage, but so intermittent I kind of let it go. happens every once in a while, stii, to this date. Unfortunately Last month, someone made a u-turn in front of me and caused some Rt. Front end damage spun around and they also hit RT 1/4 Panel. Have full insurance coverage and Geico said "If we don't add the 1/4 panel to repairs, car repairable, but if 1/4 panel added it brings repairs to border-line total loss. I knew that I would get my deductible back (no liability on my side and other car also Geico insd. 1/4 Panel added, car totaled and I retained salvage and had car repaired, (LOOKS LIKE NEW) but the slight tranny slippage still intermittent and DEALERSHIP SAID NO COVERAGE AS CAR WAS totaled. I AM DEALING WITH Chrysler EXTENDED WARRANTY "RESOLUTIONS DEPT." AND THEY CLAIM THEY "WANT TO HELP ME" but they need final approval from dealer service manager. and Regional Manager who has final say - any suggestions or helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. If I left out the 1/4 panel damage when first appraised by insurance company, I would have no problem with the Chrysler warranty, as Jeep would NOT have been a total loss. The front damage was really not that bad as I have a crash-bar, (Heavy Duty Front end crash bar-after-market unit, Dealer installed, which took most of the impact- airbag not even deployed)) I am desperate for Chryslers help as I am currently unemployed and no money to fix tranny and this was a minor, but long term (way before accident) intermittent tranny slippage. I am Waiting Chryslers call as to status, as I write this message. Any helpful input/suggestions greatly appreciated...Sincerely, SRH
