Brake lights for 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I own a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (Special Edition). When i brake with my all my lights on, the brake light on the driver side goes out. I tried to change the bulb and it did the same thing. When removing the bulb it did look burned out? Not sure what to do? Someone at Jeep suggested changing out the whole light piece all together but seems extreme because only one little light malfunctioning.?

Generally, the symptoms you describe are often a ground problem.
Do you have a tow package? Is it possible that the wrong bulb is being installed?

The problem is actually in the bulb socket. I've had the same problem. Actually, hundreds of GC owners have! I see Grands all the time that have the same problem. There is a loose connection in the socket, so no matter how many bulbs you try, they'll all do the same thing, unless you are able to tighten the connection, which is inside the socket, or you replace the socket.

I'd replace the socket that comes out with the bulb when you press the tabs in.
