Can I get 16" wheels for my 2006 Mazda 3S with TPS?

Very few and poor tire options for 17" (205/50/17) tire class. Would like to get Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread tires bu they don't come in 17". OEM Goodyear tires have worn out at 18,000 miles and are dangerous in snow or ice. I'm willing to buy new rims but Tirerack doesn't list a 16" rim for Mazda with TPS.

I'd go with saying 16" wheels wont fit. I doubt there is enough space between the brakes and the inner part of the wheel to get a smaller diameter. How about changing to 18" wheels? They might have more and better tire options.
