Can you negotiate a closed end lease?
my lease on a 2006 Acura MDX is due next month. I am told dealers don't want SUV's on the lot and may bargain on the buyout. Any truth to that? Anyone turn their lease in lately?

Absolutely! When times are like these, leasors do not want the vehicle back so you have a lot of room to negotiate the buyout of the vehicle. You can make a reasonable counteroffer directly to the leasor and see what they come back with. Start negotiating now to give yourself time to go back and forth. Good luck!

AHF leasing will not lower the stated residual as I tried to do so on my 05 MDX at the expiration of the 36 month lease. I verified this fact with several Honda and Acura dealers that AHF has insurance coverage to cover any monetary loss on the lease end value. AHFextended the lease for 12 months with the stipulation that I can return it with a 30 day notice. I am looking for a way to turn it in and track it to buy it back at the current market price through the auction or through a dealer at an attractive price.
