I am no expert on the outlander, but i do know about ethanol. If the vehicle is designed to run only on e85 it is ok to use it. Otherwise dont. E85 may be cheaper but has more drawbacks than just a cheaper cost. E85 will decrese your fuel mileage pretty good, and decrese your power. If it is ran enough it can clog up your fuel injectors.
