Check engine light on in Chrysler PT Cruiser.

The engine light is on in my 2005 PT Cruiser. It only has 18,319 miles. The first time the light came on was at 15,178 miles and it had a code of 0340.

The cam sensor was replaced by the service department. Problem has occurred again this week and the code was PO344.

This time the cam and crank sensor was replaced. The car ran great for two days and the engine light came on again. This time the service department cleaned the connection at the pcm and the cam sensor. No code listed.

Again, the car ran great for two days and the engine light is on again. Does anyone have any advice on what could be going on with this car? I'm planning on taking it back to the dealer again on Monday when the service department is open. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks!!!

If this error code was repeated after replacing the camshaft position sensor, I suspect you have a short in the wiring between the CPS sensor and the powertrain control module (PCM). When you take it in make sure they check the wiring for any wear and tear between the CPS and the PCM. Good luck!
