Chevy Blazer fuel gauge is reading 1/2 tank when empty. Fuel pump was repaired and replaced and gauge was fine before pump installed. Any ideas?
pump was replaced and gauge is reading on FUEL for full tank and then when empty it is around the 1/2 tank mark. Each time the ignition is fired up the needle jumps all the way down to center bottom of gauge area and then back to a steady hand. Took new pump out and put old one back still same action on the gauge. Any ideas?

most likely cause of failure is the fuel level sending unit if it was not replaced with the new fuel pump. if you have a new fuel level sending unit, then it could be your instrument cluster.
