Dealer invoice provided by dealer higher than what Edmunds provides

I am a Costco member, so I get to see the dealer invoice. The Invoice by Edmunds is less than what dealer shows. I have used the same zipcode for where the dealership is located.

Edmunds isn't the only site with invoice numbers. If the Edmunds invoice number doesn't agree with KBB or Cars.com or MSN Autos, then maybe the number is wrong. Otherwise my guess is that the dealer has made up their own invoice. If so, you should let Costco know (I guess some Costco deals are either a markup above invoice or marked down from MSRP, so you may want to double-check that too).

From the Edmunds FAQ:

"Please note that the invoice price does not reflect any manufacturer-to-consumer rebates, the destination charge or the tax, title, license or registration fees.

Sometimes, however, the amount quoted as the "invoice price" includes the destination charge and sometimes it does not, so look closely."

Have fun shopping (and if you have the stamina for it, some dealers will beat a Costco price - the Free Price Quote service at Edmunds is relatively painless if you ignore the responses that implore you to come to the dealer for a quote).

How much is the difference?
Chances are, its the advertising fee which no website lists.
Although they do acknowledge that it exists and is a real charge.
The reason that the sites don't list it is because the fee can vary from region to region.
Also, if there has been a price increase the websites won't have the correct pricing.
As Steve said, destination charge also appears on the invoice.
Finally, any dealer installed equipment won't appear on the invoice.

It was the TDA (advertising fee) and gasoline charge. After getting the full dealer invoice that had all of the fees, I was able to match everything up well. I think Edmunds needs to do a better job of explaining what is missing in there information. I looked for something like that before posting, but could not find it.
