Defogging problem

Rear window defogger and side mirrors are not functioning to clear ice or frost. Have not noticed any blown fuses. Any suggestions?

Well, I don't know what kind of vehicle it is, but just because a fuse doesn't look blown, doesn't mean its good.

I would suspect a fuse or switch.

That circuit would probably have a relay in it as well, that might be bad.

The fuses and relays connected to this circuit should be tested with a volt/ohm meter, not visually. If those two components are both good, and current is passing through them, you have to trace up the wiring to the actual component. I think the rear defogger can be tested easily with a volt meter but the side mirrors might require some disassmbly to test whether current is getting to them.

If both these items are on the same circuit, one would suspect relays, fuses and wiring rather than the item itself.
