Does anyone know if there can be a engine conversion for a Land Rover Freelander?

Hello, I have a range Rover Freelander and nothing but problems, no surprise there.

But, I was wondering if there is a different engine that can be used.
Thanks. Susan

You can put any engine in if you have the money and skill, but in practical terms it just isn't worth it. Some people I hear have sucessfully installed the European diesel engine (TD4 I think it's called) but you'd have to find one and ship it here and then have someone do all the install--very $$$---and your truck just isn't worth that much.

This is a very troublesome car and an engine rebuild is very expensive and might also self-destruct. (head gasket issues, cylinder sleeves dropping, etc.)

As painful as it sounds, you should just hit the "flush" button and get out of this thing while you can, and take the losses. There is no upside unless you were a very skilled technician with lots of time and money on your hands.
