    To reset your engine light , disconnect your battery cables taking hot cable 1st,then your negitive, leave disconnected for about 10 minutes or so , make sure when doin this your ignition is in the position turned back to you where the radio is able to stay on,its accessary mode! Your problem should be solved after returning cables back to battery! Good luck!

    The CEL in OBDII cars will only go off after several driving cycles *IF* the condition(s) that triggerred the code(s) are gone. OR you can manually reset as the previous poster indicated.

    Best bet would be to find out WHY the CEL is on. Take it to a local AutoZone or similar and have them read the code, they usually do so for free and can even clear it. But getting the code(s) stored will help identify what systems need to be worked on - that's your real solution to fixing the CEL.

    Reply back with any codes if you get them read.
