    You can fit anything into it if you're willing to deal with the issues that come up, and if you have the skill and the money---but I'm just not seeing any reason to mess with the original motor in a car like this. If you want a faster car, I'd just go buy a faster car. For the measly few hundred CCs you might pack into it with a later motor, I don't think it would be worth your time and investment. On the plus side, pre OBD-II motors are generally easier to modify, so you might be better off trying to enhance the performance of a stock motor.
