Have a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder 75,000 miles. Excessive oil consumption after oil change and 3000 miles later had no oil.

Twice now I had acceleration delay, rough shifting. Shop found nothing wrong except that my oil level was nil. I take it every 3,000 mi for service & oil change. Now it has happened again. After I fill it with oil she runs great. Don't understand. There are no signs in my driveway, nor anywhere else where I park that I am loosing oil???? Can you help me?

So what you are telling us, is that you never check your oil.

Start checking it regularly. Like every time you get gas.
Then you will be able to make a better determination as to how much you are going through.

In order to determine where the oil is going, you need to do 3 things.
Add oil leak detection dye to the oil, run for a week or two and then go over the entire engine with a leak detection light.
Check compression. Are all cylinders with in 25 psi of each other?
Do a leak down test on each cylinder.

If no visable leaks are found with the leak detection dye, all cylinders check out with the leak down test and compression test, then the likely suspect would be the valve seals are leaking by.
