    If the jeep started fine before the battery replacement check the battery negative ground cable to make sure there is a good solid ground that did not come loose when the battery was changed. Also, check all the power connections to the starter itself. If the starter is still giving you trouble, go into the fuse box and change the starter motor relay. I suspect this because even if the starter was bad, the relay should click repeatedly when you turn the key.

    I would check all your connections again and the connections at the starter. Sounds like you need a starter.
