There's a small problem with the details you posted in your question. You specified the 575M model; and that vehicle was not made in the 1980s. It was first introduced in 2002. Back then the new prices were:

    2006 Ferrari 575M
    $217,890 - $228,339
    2005 Ferrari 575M
    $217,890 - $228,339
    2004 Ferrari 575M
    $217,890 - $228,339
    2003 Ferrari 575M
    $224,585 - $228,625
    2002 Ferrari 575M
    $214,670 - $224,065

But in the late 1980s; the standard production Ferrari models were the 328 GTB and GTS. These cars were produced from 1985 to 1989. They had a 3.2 liter V-8 motor. In 1985, the 328 retailed from $58,400-$62,500 ($115,300-$123,400 in 2008 dollars) in the United States.
