How do I get door latch mechanism to come back down on my 1997 Chevy Corsica so my doors will close all the way?

I thought I has flipping up a child safety look on the inside edge of the door, but it wasn't. Now the I cant' get the mechanism to come back down so the door will close. I was looking at the front door to see if I could figure it out when I accidentally flipped that mechanism up also that won't come down. So now the front door and back door won't close all the way.

This is easy, 1st make sure door is unlocked, then grasp outside door handle just like you were trying to open the door, and push lock striker pawl down ( thats the thing you flipped up when you were thinking it was the child safety lock) , then release the outside door handle and the door should be able to open and close freely.
