    They are just pressure fitted to the cap. They should just pull right off. They may be stuck because of age and corrosion. so apply some spray lubricant like WD40 to them to make it easier to pull off.

    Sometimes it helps if you give them a slight twist back and forth to break them loose before pulling.

    If you apply a small dab of di-electric grease into each boot of the new wires it helps on installing them and will make them easier to remove the next time. It is a common item found at most auto parts stores.

    Wire removal for 96 Camry

    The wires all have a plastic protective cap Each one is made to fit a particular wire. The cap has hole for the wire to pass through and then clips on to the distributor. I like to slide something like a match under the clip while I try and pull the cap over and down the wire. Once it is removed, the wires will come off.

    Its easier if you can remove the duct work for the air cleaner first to get better access
