How do I remove the screw that holds the dash located above the gauges? I turn it both ways and it doesn't come out.

We are trying to change the stero, but that part of the dash has a screw right above the gauges and no matter which way I turn it doesn't appear to loosen anything. Its like it is striped on the bolt or whatever it is attached to. I am wondering if there is a trick to removing this one screw. It appears to be the only thing holding the dash from coming off...I have all the corners and sides popped of except this one that the screw appears to be holding up top. How can I get it off. I am tempted to drill a hole in the top of my dash to see what is holding it.

The screw is most likely stripped. Try to pry a flat head screwdriver under the head of the screw and unscrew it while applying pressure to remove it at the same time. If it is stripped, this should get it off.

Try pushing the dash up where the screw is, to get some resistence against the screw. If you have a cordless screw driver, use it because it tends to get better grip and turn faster than a regular screw driver or phillip head. Sometime it becomes a little stripped and need some fast action to release it from the plastic under the dash.
